never did a little city look so pretty

On Easter Sunday I planted my feet in an idyllic little cobbled haven and explored Prague for the first time.  It is proving a mammoth task to try and capture its intrinsic detail and unique character with my pen, but this is what I've proposed to do for my graphic novel project.

...How to illustrate a lifetime captured in the expression of an old man who sits by the river reflecting on old photographs that he keeps tucked away in his inside pocket, a hundred padlocks clinging tightly to a railing revealing lovers that were, the Charles Bridge in the dead of morning, a giant metronome adorned with abandoned shoes, and a dark lingering past...

Lots to do!

patterned goodness

Super, super, super excited about the upcoming lecture from Jenny Bowers of the Peepshow Collective...her use of colour and pattern, for lack of better words, is utterly scrumptious.

mew

Feeling totally inspired by Chris Ware at the moment; this book boasts a beautiful symphony of colours while following the goings-on of a solitary man, who has aged well beyond his years, as he struggles to come to grips with his newly rekindled relationship with his estranged father.  I've used the new graphic novel project to experiment with some colour with no real attachment to outcome...this is the beginnings of a little story I'm drafting based on a recent news article...more to follow...
